Terms of service
Draft template. Replace the [bracketed] details and have this reviewed by a solicitor before launch.
These terms apply to services provided by [Your name / company name] trading as SecureSiteCheck.
Authorisation
We only assess websites after the owner, or someone authorised by them, has signed our written permission form. You confirm that any website you ask us to assess is yours, or that you have authority to request the assessment.
Free quick check
The quick check only reads information that any web browser receives when visiting a homepage. It is provided as-is for general information and is not a full security assessment.
Assessments
- An assessment reflects what we found at the time, within the agreed scope. It cannot guarantee your website will never be compromised.
- An assessment does not change your website. Fixes are a separate, optional service, quoted and agreed in writing before any work.
- The Essential Assessment looks only at what is publicly visible. The Full Assessment also uses temporary read-only access that you provide, which you can revoke at any time.
- Fees are fixed and payable before work starts. If we cannot start the assessment, we will refund you in full.
Liability
Our total liability for any assessment is limited to the fee you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
